Yvonne BlackwoodYvonne Blackwood

Since 1995, Yvonne has been motivating people to conquer their fitness goals. She has worked in hospital and in-home settings. Yvonne incorporates pilates and yoga into her workouts to help her clients gain functional flexibility. Being born with type 1 diabetes, Yvonne has had to personally deal with the difficulties involved with maintaining solid nutrition her whole life. She motivates and communicates clearly and creatively in a way that excites people to change their lives for the healthier.

John EngersJohn Engers

A native from Danville, John brings a unique hometown training appeal.  Having graduated from Monte Vista High School and moving on to play professional baseball, John has devoted himself to fitness and the success of others.   His client base includes clients with fat loss, injury prevention, nutritional consulting, as well as  athletes of many ages and ranges.  A passionate exerciser, John pursues many forms of exercise, from functional fitness to power-lifting to sport-specific exercise.  John’s high-energy style gets results from even the most apprehensive client.

Corrine BlackCorrine Black

Corinne joins the New Direction team all the way from North Carolina. A contagious motivator, and boasting a B.S. from   UNC with a major in Exercise and Sport science, Corinne knows what she is talking about and instills enthusiasm in those she trains. A five time letter winner on the prestigious national champion Tarheel soccer team, Corinne is no stranger to success. She brings her experience and motivational style to New Direction to get you results.

Robert BumgarnerRobert Bumgarner

With more than 5 years of training experience, Robert has numerous clients with different backgrounds to his credit.  His motivational style and dedication to each individual client makes him an amazing asset to the New Direction team.

Robert grew up in Eugene, Oregon where he first found his love for health and fitness.  He began playing sports at the age of five and throughout the years he  has played almost every sport including; soccer, football, baseball, basketball, hockey, tennis, racquetball, track and field, and volleyball.  He is currently pursuing bodybuilding and power lifting. 

“I enjoy working with every type of person and every type of goal.  I am known for getting people results and to their goals through proper program design and nutrition.  I specialize in fat loss, muscle gain, and increased sports performance.  My goal is to educate as many people as I can about how to live healthy, stay healthy, prevent injury, increase performance, and to reach these goals all the while having fun.”

Justin CoffeenJustin Coffeen

Justin graduated from CSU Hayward with a B.S. in Kinesiology with options in both athletic training and physical education. He was a varsity athlete in high school and college in the sports of cross country and track and field. He is currently active on the local running scene, racing road and trail races from 5k up to 50k. Justin also enjoys mountain biking and martial arts. He joined New Direction coming from a clinical background, where he wrote exercise prescription for a cardiac rehabilitation program. Justin has extensive experience training people for weight loss, and knows how to manage and rehab pre-existing injuries while still maintaining training and fitness goals. Through various motivation techniques, and high-energy workouts targeted to your personal workout plan, Justin will facilitate you in reaching all your fitness goals. Justin CoffeenRacquel DeVera

Racquel has been training clients of all ages and walks of life for over 5 years. Her passion in helping people believe it is possible to live an active and healthy lifestyle stems in her background of athletics. A Bay Area native and graduate of California State University, Hayward (East Bay), she has excelled in the sports of basketball, volleyball and softball. Because of her active lifestyle she enjoys many different activities such as running, weight lifting, muay thai kickboxing, basketball pick-up games, motorcycle riding and snowboarding.

Racquel attributes her training style to her coaches and trainers that have helped her achieve her own fitness and personal goals. It is through Racquel's enthusiasm, determination and dedicating nature where she is able to catapult her clients to a different level, not only in fitness, but in every aspect of their lives.

Andy HernandezAndrew Hernandez

Growing up in Sacramento, Andrew began playing sports at the early age of four. Between baseball, soccer, and hockey sports became an all year profession. Once high school started baseball became the main focus in Andrew's sports career. After playing baseball at the college level, his playing career was ended due to an unfortunate shoulder reconstruction. In light of his injury, he began to pursue new ideas for proper training and techniques. Fitness and sports became a tool to understand the proper way to train for both athletes and fitness enthusiasts. While attending Sacramento State Andrew became a Kinesiology major with an emphasis in Exercise Science. Since attending college, Andrew has encountered and trained athletes of different ages and backgrounds in various sports. Some athletes include high school, college, and even professional athletes in both men and women sports. Motivation and dedication are two of the key factors that are incorporated when clients have training sessions with Andrew.

Bobby JacksonBobby Jackson

An avid tennis player, Bobby received many honors including All-State Tennis Honors.  His passion led him to tennis instruction for three years while at the same time serving in the Army National Guard.  Still active, Bobby spent over a year in Iraq as an emergency medic.  While there, he managed the medical care for all 137 men in his company.

Upon his return, he became the head sales producer at JC Penney with the highest sales gains in the district (Minot, North Dakota).  He has spent great deal of his time ministering to young people and serving on Missions trips to both the Czech Republic and Guatemala.  An avid civil servant, Bobby’s life exudes his passion for people and serving in as many means as possible.

Life phrase: "Integrity and genuineness are the two values that I respect the most, and I will treat you with both."
