Hi, my name is Ben Jackson, founder of New Direction.
My passion for fitness has grown tremendously in recent years as I suffered from a thyroid disorder a few years ago and I was unable to control my weight. I ballooned up to an unbelievable 230 pounds.

After 2 years of struggling with medication and bouts of depression, I realized I needed to take my life back. I began controlling my diet and began exercising again. After many failed methods, including diets that didn’t work, I began to study the way the body metabolizes food so I could conquer my weight problem.
Through healthy diet and exercise I lost more than 60 pounds of fat!! With proper motivation, sound nutritional advice and a consistent workout plan, I was able to successfully drop body fat and simultaneously gain 8-10 pounds of lean body mass!!
No weight loss products or crash diets, just a consistent day in-day out commitment to feeling, looking and living better.
I now sleep better, feel energized, and feel compelled to spread the experiences I’ve gained with everyone who will listen.
